3D Printed D&RGW Style Switch Stand

3D Printed D&RGW Style Switch Stand

THIS PRODUCT IS UNDER TESTING AND PROTOTYPE. IF YOU WISH TO RECIVE THE FILES BEFORE ITS RELEASED, CONTACT ME VIA EMAIL. The only reason these haven't been released yet is because I haven't filmed the build video yet.

When building my own turnouts, I was not surprised to see how expensive off the shelf turnout parts can be. So I decided to design my own D&RGW style switch machines to compliment my backyard railroad.

This switch machine was designed to be easily taken apart to replace parts as they wear. all parts attached to the actuator shaft utilize a shaft collar for easy replacement and alignment. While 3D printed parts wont last forever, the cost of printing one of these is a fraction of buying one off the shelf and they look the part. Printing these from ASA or painting your stand if its printed from PETG will guarantee they last quite a while. Since these are new, no long term testing has been accomplished so its hard to say how long these will last if printed with the proper material and print settings. My guess would be 3 years for PETG, 5+ for ASA filament. When they eventually need to be replaced, printing another as a replacement is a breeze, and can be easily replaced. You are able to choose from a single sided target, or a double sided target. (Note the "KPR" logo on the switch stands in the photos are for my own railroad. The files you receive will have a blank base with no text on them)
