GP40/GP38 3D Printed Detail Parts
Do you already have a GP38 or GP40 but wish it had a bit more detail? These are the files for you. With these files you will have access to all the 3D printed detail parts you see on my GP40 and GP38 under the locomotive section of the store.
With the files you will get the original files I used for the GP40/38. Some require holes or recesses to be cut from the locomotive. (Examples include headlights passing through nose, reverse light, or any part that may need to extrude through the body for mounting purposes). You will also receive files that were designed to be glued or screwed on, not requiring any mounting holes at all. Examples include glue or screw on headlight fixture, flat back number boards, etc... This means you can pick and choose which files fit best for your application, and attach the 3D printed detail parts in the way that works best for you. Make sure to check out Part 2 of my GP40 build series on YouTube. You will get a pretty good idea how the parts are designed to be used.
Some parts do utilize 3mm screws to attach to the body of an existing locomotive, such as the blower housing and radiator panels. Simply use the 3D printed part as a template to drill and tap your mounting holes.
If you have been looking for a way to increase the detail on your locomotive, this is the perfect place to start! As always feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions.
